Noah Kittner is an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Sciences and Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Gillings School of Global Public Health. He holds joint appointments in the Department of City and Regional Planning and the Environment, Ecology, and Energy Program (E3P). His research focuses on sustainable, resilient, and equitable energy systems, including energy storage, decarbonization strategies, and the health impacts of fossil fuel reliance. He is affiliated with the Center for Community Capital and has collaborated on projects in Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, and Kosovo.

Dr. Kittner teaches courses on sustainable energy systems and is actively recruiting PhD students for deep decarbonization research. His work appears in journals like Nature Energy and Environmental Science & Technology.
He previously served as a Fulbright Fellow in Thailand and contributed to the Thai Solar PV Roadmap project with Chulalongkorn University. Current projects include electric vehicle battery assessments and grid integration strategies.
