Dr. Kendall L. Samuelson serves as Associate Professor of Animal Science in the Department of Agricultural Sciences at West Texas A&M University's Paul Engler College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences, where she joined the Feedlot Research Group in fall 2017 and manages the campus ruminant nutrition laboratory.
Educational background:
- B.S. in Animal Science (minor in Agricultural Business), California State University, Chico (2010)
- M.S. in Animal Science, Angelo State University (2013)
- Ph.D. in Animal Science (minor in Biochemistry), New Mexico State University (2016)
- Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, Texas A&M AgriLife Beef Research Feedlot
Her research centers on evaluating nutritional strategies to optimize feedlot cattle performance and developing practical industry recommendations for beef production systems. Current work focuses on improving feed efficiency, animal health outcomes, and sustainable management practices within commercial cattle feeding operations.
Professional activities include membership in the American Society of Animal Science, American Registry of Professional Animal Scientists, and Panhandle Livestock Producers. She actively contributes to the WTAMU Research Feedlot and oversees laboratory operations for ruminant nutrition studies.
