Professor Ken Sloan serves as Vice-Chancellor and Chief Executive Officer of Harper Adams University since November 2021. He holds senior administrative roles, including leadership in strategy, governance, and commercialization across global higher education institutions. His career includes roles at Monash University, the University of Warwick, and Tsinghua University.
Education: MA (Hons) from the University of Glasgow, MBA from Warwick Business School. Professional memberships include CPA Australia, FAUA, and FRSA.
Research interests focus on strategic leadership in academia, governance structures, and fostering innovation through partnerships. He chairs multiple boards and committees, including the Schwarzman Scholars selection process and the Victorian Heart Institute Strategic Advisory Board.
Awards include FAUA, FRSA, and the ANZ Journal of Surgery Lecture (2021). He actively contributes to policy development and institutional risk management across universities and international organizations.
Advising and grants: Extensive experience in university enterprise, governance, and fundraising. Served on boards of institutions like Monash Investment Holdings, BioCurate Pty Ltd, and the Coventry Partnership. Involved in trusts in Singapore, South Africa, and Hong Kong.
