Dr. Kelvin Chan is a historian specializing in medicine and the British Empire, currently affiliated with the Department of History at the University of Bristol. His research focuses on colonial Hong Kong, particularly the history of madness, drugs, and traditional Chinese medicine.
Research Interests: His work examines the intersection of colonial governance and psychiatric practices, including the use of reformatory institutions, and explores the globalization of Chinese medicine from the 1950s to 1980s.
