Kelly Rohan is the Heinz and Rowena Ansbacher Green and Gold Professor in Psychology at the University of Vermont (UVM), affiliated with the Department of Psychological Science within the College of Arts and Sciences. Her research focuses on mood disorders, particularly seasonal affective disorder (SAD), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and treatment outcomes. She leads the Rohan Laboratory, which recently completed a National Institute of Mental Health-funded randomized clinical trial comparing CBT-SAD and light therapy for SAD patients.
Education: B.A., Saint Bonaventure University (1993); Ph.D., University of Maine (1998). Her work integrates experimental therapeutics, biomarker analysis (pupillometry, EEG, actigraphy), and psychological mechanisms to improve mental health interventions. Current projects explore treatment moderators, biomarkers, and neurobiological underpinnings of seasonal depression.
Key areas of expertise include SAD treatment efficacy, seasonal belief systems, and translational research bridging basic science and clinical practice. She has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and developed assessment tools like the Seasonal Beliefs Questionnaire.
