Dr. Kelly Núñez Ocasio is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at Texas A&M University. She leads the Tropical Systems Group, focusing on tropical meteorology with emphasis on mesoscale convective systems (MCS), African easterly waves, tropical cyclone genesis, and monsoon dynamics. Her work integrates storm-resolving modeling (WRF, MPAS) with observational analyses to study climate impacts on tropical systems.
Education: Ph.D., Meteorology and Atmospheric Science, Penn State University (2021); B.S., Physics, University of Puerto Rico-Mayagüez (2016).
