Kelly Murphy is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Toronto, with adjunct faculty roles at York University and Queen’s University. She is affiliated with the Rotman Research Institute at Baycrest Health Sciences and co-founded Toronto Brain Health.
- PhD in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario
- Post-doctoral research fellowship in Cognitive Neuroscience at the Rotman Research Institute
Her research focuses on cognitive aging, memory intervention, and optimizing brain health for older adults at risk of dementia. She developed the Learning the Ropes for Living with MCI™ program and the web-based app ArtOnTheBrain, both targeting cognitive wellness. Her work integrates clinical neuropsychology, rehabilitation psychology, and behavioral therapy techniques.
Dr. Murphy is a registered psychologist with expertise in neuropsychological assessment and intervention. She contributes to academic research, public speaking, media interviews, and a Psychology Today blog. She partners with the Canadian Centre for Aging and Brain Health Innovation to evaluate ArtOnTheBrain’s impact on health outcomes.
