Dr. Kelly Malloy is Professor of Optometry and Chief of Neuro-Ophthalmic Disease at Salus University's Pennsylvania College of Optometry, with 25 years of service including 18 years leading the neuro-ophthalmic specialty at The Eye Institute. She holds faculty appointments in Head and Neck Anatomy, Neuroanatomy, and Neuro-Ophthalmic Disease courses.
Research focuses on neuro-ophthalmic manifestations of systemic diseases, including cranial neuropathies, demyelinating disorders, vascular anomalies, and compressive lesions affecting the visual pathway. Clinical investigations emphasize diagnostic algorithms and management strategies for complex neuro-ophthalmic conditions.
Honors include Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry and being the inaugural diplomat in Neuro-Ophthalmic Disorders. She co-founded the AAO Neuro-Ophthalmic Disorders Special Interest Group and established the first optometric residency in Neuro-Ophthalmic Disease at The Eye Institute.
Publications demonstrate extensive clinical expertise in case-based management of orbital and intracranial pathologies affecting vision, with recent emphasis on cerebrovascular accidents, neoplastic manifestations, and autoimmune disorders. Educational contributions include national and international lectures on neuro-ophthalmic evaluation techniques.
Grant-supported initiatives focus on expanding neuro-ophthalmic training programs and developing standardized assessment protocols for optometric practice.
