Kelly M. Banna is a Professor in the Psychology Department at Millersville University. She holds a PhD in Psychology from Auburn University and has a postdoctoral background in Neurosciences at the Medical University of South Carolina. Her academic journey includes teaching roles at Auburn University, College of Charleston, and Wichita State University.
Her research focuses on Behavioral Economics, integrating behavior analysis with microeconomics to study decision-making influenced by alternative reinforcers and reinforcement delays. She explores both animal and human models of choice, particularly in health-related behaviors like fitness, diet, and substance abuse.
Key publication trends include studies on methamphetamine and heroin relapse models in rats, methylmercury toxicity, and behavioral interventions for physical activity. Her work spans neurotoxicology, addiction research, and ecological behavior studies in bluegill sunfish.
She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in General Psychology, Experimental Design, Learning and Motivation, and Physiological Psychology. Outside academia, she enjoys running, baking, and activities with her pets.
