Kelly Kaulback

Kelly Kaulback is a Lecturer in Sport Rehabilitation at St Mary's University, serving as Course Lead for the MSc Sport Rehabilitation program. She joined in February 2022 from the University of Pretoria, where she was a Biokineticist and PhD fellow at the Sport, Exercise Medicine and Lifestyle Institute (SEMLI). Her academic background includes a 2018 MSc (distinction) and an ongoing PhD on respiratory health in athletes, supported by SEMLI and the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Research Centre of South Africa.

Her research focuses on respiratory health in athletes, disability sports, endurance sport, mental health in athletes, and female athlete health. She has presented at conferences such as the ACSM Conference (2022) and SASMA National Roadshow (2021), contributing to high-impact publications on athlete respiratory illness and return-to-play protocols. Kelly combines clinical experience with elite athletes (including her own field hockey background) and research on vulnerable athlete populations.
