Kelly J. Tierney is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Design at Tulane University. She holds an MFA in Transdisciplinary Design from Parsons School of Design and a BFA in Fine Arts and Industrial Design from The College for Creative Studies. Her teaching emphasizes playful, contemplative methods, blending theater, philosophy, and game design to foster critical inquiry. She has over 20 years of experience in systems thinking and collaborative storytelling, contributing to projects like Obama Care’s healthcare redesign. Notable achievements include two iF Design Awards and patented innovations in wearable technology and digital audio devices.
