Kelly Carlson-Reddig is an Associate Professor of Architecture at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She earned her Bachelor of Architecture from Texas Tech University (1986) and a Master of Environmental Design from Yale University (1992). Her research explores the conceptual dimensions of architectural materiality, tectonics, and the aesthetic significance of architectural 'marks' through design and fabrication.

Her teaching includes advanced architectural design studios, materials and methods courses, and critical practice/technology electives such as 'MARK' and 'Critical Artful Materiality Tectonics.' She has held leadership roles, including Chairing the National ACSA Technology Conference and serving as Associate Director of UNC Charlotte’s School of Architecture for 8 years. Current initiatives focus on curriculum reform addressing the Climate Emergency.
She co-founded the lecture series 'Architecture’s Materiality' and 'BEYOND CENTER: Diversity in Architecture,' emphasizing inclusive practices and interdisciplinary exploration. Her scholarship has been published in journals like the Journal of Architectural Education (JAE) and conference proceedings for the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA).
