Kellie Wallace is an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice and Undergraduate Chair of Criminal Justice and Justice Studies at Lasell University's School of Humanities, Education, Justice & Social Sciences. Her interdisciplinary work bridges criminal justice, mental health, and social advocacy.
- Education: PhD in Criminal Justice and Criminology from the University of Massachusetts Lowell; CAGS in Mental Health Counseling from Suffolk University; MS in Criminal Justice Studies and Mental Health Counseling from Suffolk University; BA in Psychology and Sociology from the College of the Holy Cross.
Dr. Wallace's research explores the criminalization of mental illness, the intersection of criminal justice and mental health systems, and competency processes for adult defendants with intellectual disabilities. She also investigates substance use disorders, police crisis intervention training, and veterinary forensic science, with a recent publication titled The Need for Weed, which addresses federal cannabis legalization debates.
Her teaching portfolio spans criminology, corrections, violence prevention, and forensic psychology, with a focus on integrating practical insights from her work as a veterinary technician and clinical therapist.
