Keller Easterling is a Professor of Architecture and Urbanism at Yale School of Architecture since 1998, and concurrently holds a position at The European Graduate School/EGS. She specializes in critical spatial practice, infrastructure politics, and the intersection of architecture with global political systems. Her work bridges theoretical research, urban design, and artistic interventions.
- Educations: B.Sc. and M.Arch. from Princeton University (1981, 1984)
Her research focuses on infrastructural power, spatial politics, and how architecture mediates political and economic systems. Notable works include Extrastatecraft (2014), analyzing infrastructure as a political tool, and Enduring Innocence (2005), examining spatial objects in politically contested regions.
She has lectured globally and participated in major exhibitions like the Venice and Rotterdam Biennales. Awards include the Gustav Ranis International Book Award for Enduring Innocence.
Easterling’s interdisciplinary projects include theater plays, web installations, and collaborative works such as Call it Home (a history of U.S. suburbia) and Wildcards: A Game of Orgman.
