Kelle Brooks is a Lecturer at California Polytechnic State University's College of Architecture and Environmental Design, where she coordinates the 2nd-year design studio sequence. With an M.Arch from the University of Oregon and a BFA from Pratt Institute, she blends artistic and technical expertise in sustainable design. Her current work emphasizes community-driven projects, including outdoor learning environments for K-8 schools and material innovation research.
Research Focus: Brooks investigates interactive learning spaces, building-landscape integration, and adaptive materials. Her grant-funded projects include Shape Memory Polymer applications (AIA Upjohn Grant) and nationwide initiatives like the Green Schoolyards Outdoor Learning Group. She directs the Learn Outdoor platform, documenting prototypes for educational spaces.
