Kelda Folliard is an Associate Professor in Midwifery at the School of Health Sciences, University of East Anglia (UEA). She specializes in perinatal mental health and complex social factors in childbearing, with a clinical role at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. She chairs the East of England Midwifery Research Network and serves as a Senior Research Leader for NIHR Nursing and Midwifery, focusing on midwife research capacity. She teaches midwifery undergraduate programs and organizes post-registration perinatal mental health modules.
Her doctoral research explored perinatal anxiety through longitudinal interpretative phenomenological analysis. Her research interests include maternal mental health, midwifery practice resilience, and advanced clinical education frameworks. She contributed to a NIHR Undergraduate Internship Programme (2024) and co-authored works on postpartum anxiety risk factors and midwifery career pathways.
Her work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals addressing health equity and quality education. She collaborates with institutions like the Midwifery Research Group and has been involved in consultancy projects on advanced practice frameworks (2022).
