Keith Wyma is a Professor of Philosophy at Whitworth University, where he has served since 1998. He co-coaches the Ethics Bowl Team and specializes in Ethics, Philosophy of Action, Philosophy of Religion, and the History of Philosophy. His research explores topics like divine justice, free will, and moral decision-making.
Dr. Wyma holds a Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of Notre Dame and a B.A. from Calvin College. He has been recognized with the Murdock Lives of Commitment Research Fellowship and a Summer Research Fellowship from the Weyerhaeuser Center for Christian Faith and Learning. Additionally, he was a National Merit Scholar during his undergraduate studies.
His academic contributions include keynote addresses at Gonzaga University’s Graduate Philosophy Conference and presentations at conferences such as the Society of Christian Philosophers and the American Philosophical Association. He has published widely on theological ethics, civil disobedience, and the philosophical implications of religious doctrines.
Wyma teaches courses ranging from introductory philosophy to advanced topics like Metaphysics, Aesthetics, and the Ten Commandments as Moral Law. He actively engages in interdisciplinary initiatives, including the Ethics and Public Service Values Seminar for the federal government.
