معرفی
Keith Humphreys is a Professor in Biostatistics at the Department of Medical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Karolinska Institutet. He leads the research group focusing on statistical methods in cancer epidemiology and screening, particularly breast cancer. His academic roles include course director for the Biostatistics course in the Molecular Techniques in the Life Sciences master’s program.
Education:
- PhD in Social Statistics (1996), Southampton University, UK
- Postdoc in Statistics/Psychometrics (1997), Stockholm University
- Postdoc in Statistics (1999), Glasgow University, UK
- Docent in Biostatistics (2002), Karolinska Institutet
Research Interests: Development of statistical models for breast cancer risk assessment, tumor progression, and mammography screening. His work integrates genetic, epidemiological, and clinical data to improve personalized health insights. Projects include analyzing genetic variants, tumor growth models, and mammographic density measurements.
Grants & Collaborations: Received grants from the Swedish Cancer Society. Collaborates internationally on large-scale studies, including analyses of 180,000 women across Europe and Asia. Active in methodological advancements for longitudinal and familial data analysis.
Advising & Students:
- PhD students: Letizia Orsini, Evripidis Kapanidis, Ziyan Ma, Emilio Ugalde Morales, and others
- Postdoctoral researchers: Alessandro Gasparini, Behrang Mahjani
Research Group: The group specializes in statistical approaches for breast cancer screening and personalized risk assessment. They address questions like tumor growth dynamics, interval cancers, and genetic risk prediction through interdisciplinary collaborations.
