Keith Ayling serves as Professor in Songwriting at Leeds Conservatoire, where he teaches BA (Hons) Music (Songwriting) and BA (Hons) Music (Popular) programs. With a 32-year professional music career spanning 14 albums, international tours (Canada, India, Eastern Europe, Malaysia), and performances on BBC/ITV/MTV, he brings extensive industry experience to academia while serving on the IVORS Academy Council for songwriting and music education.

His research focuses on the intersection of creative songwriting practice, artist development, and pedagogical frameworks for music education.
