Keiko Yokota-Carter is the Japanese Studies Librarian at the Asia Library, University of Michigan, and a member of the Center for Japanese Studies (CJS) Faculty. She holds advanced degrees including an MA in Information and Library Studies (University of Michigan, 1997) and an MA in International Development Education (Stanford University, 1990), alongside BAs from Western Washington University (1982) and Tsuda College (1980). Her work focuses on strengthening Japanese studies infrastructure in Humanities and Social Sciences, with expertise in scholarly communication trends, open access, and digital humanities. Since 2000, she has led negotiations to secure Japanese commercial databases for North American universities. She has held leadership roles in key organizations, including the Council of East Asia Libraries (CEAL) and the North American Coordinating Council for Japanese Library Resources (NCC). Her efforts bridge global academic communities through resource development and collaboration.
