Keesha M. Middlemass

Keesha M. Middlemass is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Howard University, specializing in race, public policy, and marginalized populations. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia and has conducted extensive research on prisoner reentry, food insecurity, and misinformation in Black communities. Her award-winning book Convicted & Condemned critically examines policies affecting formerly incarcerated individuals. Dr. Middlemass has received grants from the Knight Foundation, Wilson Foundation, and others, focusing on digital protections for Black communities and reentry initiatives. She has held prestigious fellowships at the Vera Institute of Justice and the Brookings Institution.
