Keera Allendorf is a Professor of Sociology at Indiana University Bloomington, affiliated with the Department of International Studies and the Department of Sociology. Her research explores family, gender, and health in South Asia, with comparative work in Asia and the United States.
She investigates how family behaviors evolve over time and influence well-being, utilizing large-scale surveys, ethnographic fieldwork, and semi-structured interviews. Her work has been published in American Journal of Sociology, Demography, and Population and Development Review.
Dr. Allendorf’s research trends focus on developmental idealism, marital change, and gender dynamics.
