Dr Keeley Abbott is an Associate Professor at Birmingham City University, specializing in critical approaches to sexualities, sexual health, and sex education. Her work focuses on intersections between equality/diversity/inclusion and social justice issues. She teaches using feminist and critical psychological frameworks to challenge societal norms and ideological assumptions that perpetuate inequality.
Her research interests include gendered constructions of domestic abuse, pansexual identity expression, undergraduate perceptions of sexual consent, and youth intimate relationship dynamics. She critiques heteronormative biases in sex education curricula and advocates for more inclusive pedagogical approaches.
