Keara Stanislawczyk is a Professor in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Windsor, affiliated with the Faculty of Science. Her research focuses on aquatic ecology, particularly using water fleas (zooplankton) to detect invasive species in ecosystems like Hamilton Harbour. She employs traditional taxonomic methods in her lab-based studies.
Recognized for her teaching excellence, she received an award at the University’s 2011 Celebration of Teaching Excellence, highlighting her contributions to fostering a dynamic learning environment. Her work bridges field research with graduate student mentorship, emphasizing practical methodologies for environmental monitoring.
Keara’s research interests include limnology, biodiversity assessment, and the application of zooplankton as bioindicators. She actively collaborates with students to innovate techniques for early detection of invasive species, contributing to ecological conservation efforts.
