Kaysha Corinealdi is an Assistant Professor of History at Emerson College specializing in twentieth century histories of empire, migration, and activism across Latin America, the Caribbean, and the United States.
Her research centers on:
- Afro-Caribbean Diaspora formation
- Transnational activism networks
- Twentieth Century Latin American history
- Caribbean migration patterns
- U.S. imperial zones and exclusion
- Gender studies in diasporic contexts
She is finalizing her book manuscript Defining Panama: Zones of Exclusion and Afro-Caribbean Diasporic World Making, analyzing activist networks of Afro-Caribbean Panamanians across Panama, the U.S. Canal Zone, and New York City from the 1920s-1970s. Her publications appear in the Caribbean Review of Gender Studies, International Journal of Africana Studies, Hispanic American Historical Review, and Global South, reflecting interdisciplinary engagement with historical sociology and diaspora studies.
