Kayoko Mori currently holds roles as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Gangarosa Department of Environmental Health at Emory University and an Adjunct Lecturer at the School of Veterinary Medicine, Rakuno Gakuen University (Japan). She also serves as a project-based statistics consultant for the WHO Pan American Health Organization. Previously, she was an ORISE Research Fellow at the CDC’s Division of Viral Diseases (2014-2016).
Education includes a Ph.D. from Yale University, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (D.V.M.) from the University of Tokyo, and an M.P.H. from Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health.
Her research focuses on statistical modeling in infectious diseases, vaccines, vector-borne/zoonotic diseases, Bayesian analysis, and veterinary public health. Notable awards include the 2022 Marie Sklodowska Curie Award and recognition for contributions to CDC’s Ebola response.
Her work integrates epidemiological analysis with public health practice, bridging human and veterinary medicine through statistical methodologies. Consultancy roles and international collaborations highlight her engagement with global health challenges.
