Kaylee Small is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Mount Mercy University's Martin-Herold College of Nursing & Health. She transitioned from an adjunct nursing faculty role (2017-2020) to a full-time nursing instructor position in Fall 2020, where she teaches sophomore and junior clinicals, organizes clinical schedules, assesses lab skills, grades assignments, and instructs nursing courses.

Kaylee combines clinical practice with academia, working part-time in the Emergency Department at St. Luke’s UnityPoint Hospital for 9 years while emphasizing compassionate and competent nursing education. Her research interests align with emergency care and critical care nursing practices.
She balances her professional work with personal interests in outdoor activities, gardening, and family life, expecting her first child in March 2021.
