Kayla Stan

Kayla Stan is an Assistant Professor of Geography at the University of Southern Mississippi. Her research explores geospatial analysis, remote sensing, and climate resilience, with particular focus on tropical dry forests and sustainable water management.

Stan's work spans two primary domains: human-environment interactions in the context of climate change, and geospatial analysis of illicit markets using big data analytics. She has developed creative visualizations including the 'Roots of Resilience' story map documenting conservation efforts in tropical dry forests globally.
