Dr. Kayla Keller serves as Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Associate Division Chair of Natural Science and Mathematics at Kentucky Wesleyan College, where she teaches foundational and advanced courses including General Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Advanced Integrated Lab.
Her academic credentials include a B.S. in Chemistry (ACS certified) with minors in Mathematics and Criminology from Western Kentucky University (2006) and a D.Phil. in Computational Chemistry from the University of Sussex (2012). Her doctoral research examined Electronic Structure and Mechanistic Studies of non-traditional Ziegler-Natta Catalysts.
Dr. Keller's research focuses on Computational Chemistry and Catalysis, integrating theoretical modeling with industrial applications in inorganic systems. Her work bridges physical chemistry principles with practical catalyst design, particularly relevant to synthetic polymerization processes.
She maintains active professional engagement through the American Chemical Society (serving as Treasurer for the IN-KY Boarder section), Kentucky Academy of Science, North East Association of Chemistry Teachers, and Two-Year College Chemistry Consortium.
Prior to academia, Dr. Keller worked as Senior Chemical Analyst at Swedish Match (2013-2019). Her current responsibilities include curriculum development for chemistry programs and administrative leadership within the Natural Science division.
