Dr. Kaye Rolls is a Lecturer in Nursing at the University of Wollongong's School of Nursing, within the Faculty of Science, Medicine and Health. She holds a Doctor of Nursing from the University of Technology Sydney and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Nursing from the University of Sydney. Her research focuses on aged care nursing, implementation science, delirium management in critical care settings, and the use of mHealth apps in chronic disease management. She has supervised multiple PhD students, including projects on organizational culture in nursing, frailty in trauma patients, and pressure injury prevention in Saudi Arabian hospitals.
Dr. Rolls has contributed to over 70 peer-reviewed publications, with recent work addressing the experiences of older adults during the pandemic, nurse-led interventions for delirium prevention, and the impact of social media on health behaviors. She serves as an Associate Editor for Evidence-Based Nursing and has held editorial roles in Australian Critical Care. Her teaching and research emphasize clinical decision-making, evidence-based practice, and patient safety in critical care environments.
Dr. Rolls has secured internal grants for projects like the mHealth apps survey (2024) and participated in initiatives to address low response rates in online surveys. Her service contributions include peer review for journals such as Nurse Researcher and Journal of Clinical Nursing, and leadership roles in the Australian College of Critical Care Nurses.
