Kayden Schumacher is a Research Fellow and PhD scholar at Coventry University’s Centre for Global Learning, UK. Their work focuses on transgender and gender-diverse students’ experiences in education systems, cultural competence, and LGBTQIA+ inclusivity. They hold dual masters degrees in Social Psychology (University of Kent, 2017) and School Counseling (Concordia University, 2019), alongside a BA in Psychology and Gender Studies (Lawrence University, 2016).
- Roles: Sexualities and Gender SIG Convenor (BERA), AtGender Board Member, Trans In The City Ambassador, PGR Representative (Coventry University)
- Recent Activities: Organized the Networks of Gender conference (2024), presented on Restorative Practices in Research (2023), and co-created the West Midlands Gender Research Network
Research emphasizes intersectionality, policy reform, and feminist perspectives. Recent projects include a study on pronoun inclusivity in higher education (2023) and evaluations of nursing placement systems in England (2025). Awards include Finalist for Postgraduate Researcher of the Year (2024).
