Dr. Kay Yut Chen is a Professor of Information Systems and Operations Management at the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA), part of the College of Business. He holds a Ph.D. in Humanities and Social Sciences from Caltech (1994) and a BS in Physics (1989). His research focuses on Behavioral Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, and Experimental Economics, with contributions to journals like Management Science and Production and Operations Management. Dr. Chen advises multiple doctoral students and leads grants such as the AHRQ-funded PROMIS Learning Lab for medication safety. He has received awards including the Distinguished Research Publication (2023-2024) and the INFORMS Revenue Management Award (2012). His work bridges behavioral science with operations, using experiments and AI to solve business challenges.
