معرفی
Kay Fromm is a researcher at the Department of Sensors and Modelling within the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy e.V. (ATB) in Potsdam, Germany. Her work focuses on developing and validating UHF RFID detection systems to monitor cattle health and welfare, particularly in fattening bulls.
- Research Interests: Animal welfare, sensor technology, RFID-based activity monitoring, agricultural engineering, data science applications in bioeconomy, and biotechnology for livestock health.
- Key Project: InnoRind (sustainable cattle farming network), where she investigates resource-efficient and animal-friendly husbandry systems.
The 2024 study published in AgriEngineering demonstrates her expertise in comparing UHF RFID systems with accelerometers for lying behavior detection in bulls. While RFID showed high specificity (95.9%) and accuracy (98.45%), accelerometer data provided more precise measurements.
