Kay Chen is an Assistant Professor in Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of New Hampshire's College of Health and Human Services. Her NIH-funded research develops artificial intelligence-enhanced augmentative communication (AAC) systems and interventions for bilingual populations. Dr. Chen's work has received recognition for research excellence and involves interdisciplinary collaborations across computer science and rehabilitation engineering.
Her research focuses on AAC language data science, speech recognition technologies for AAC users, and evidence-based assessment strategies for individuals with complex communication needs.
