Kawsihen Elankumaran is a Research Fellow at the Australian National University's School of Engineering since 2023. His research focuses on space flight mechanics, particularly cis-lunar astrodynamics, spacecraft navigation, and autonomous systems. He obtained his PhD from the University of New South Wales in 2022.
Research interests include:
- Cis-lunar trajectory design
- Autonomous proximity navigation
- Distributed space systems architecture
- Space robotics applications
He mentors PhD students and teaches a final-year undergraduate aerospace course. Elankumaran is an Emerging Space Leaders Award recipient from the International Astronautical Federation.
