Dr Kavi Abraham is a faculty member at Durham University, affiliated with the School of Government & International Affairs. His academic work is centered on the intersections of democracy, global governance, international relations theory, postcolonial theory, pragmatism, and race. He is actively engaged in doctoral supervision, currently serving as a second supervisor to Seun Twins in the PhD program.
His research critically examines how global institutions evolve and how concepts like stakeholder participation, liberal order, and race shape and are shaped by these transformations. His work often bridges normative theory with empirical institutional analysis, particularly in the context of global governance mechanisms.
Dr Abraham’s publications span leading journals such as Global Policy, International Affairs, Review of International Political Economy, International Studies Quarterly, American Political Science Review, European Journal of International Relations, and International Political Sociology. His recent work explores the managerial logic behind inclusion in global governance and the epistemic ambiguity surrounding race in liberal international order.
While no specific awards are listed, his consistent publication in high-impact venues and active supervision of doctoral candidates reflect his significant contribution to the field of international relations and global governance.
