Kaveh Ahadi is an Assistant Professor with joint appointments in the Department of Materials Science & Engineering and Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering at The Ohio State University. His laboratory is located in the Fontana Laboratories on the Columbus campus.
Education: He earned his Ph.D. in Materials Science from the University of California Santa Barbara (2019) and M.Sc. in Materials Science from the University of Alberta (2015).
Research Focus: Prof. Ahadi leads the Ahadi Research Group specializing in quantum materials. Key areas include:
- Epitaxial growth and characterization of functional oxides and topological materials
- Electronic transport phenomena in correlated electron systems
- Heterostructure engineering for quantum device applications
- Molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) of superconducting and spin-orbit coupled materials
Publication Trends: His 15 most recent articles (2023-2025) demonstrate strong focus on:
- Superconductivity mechanisms in KTaO3 interfaces
- MBE growth optimization of quantum materials
- Spin-charge conversion phenomena
- Strain and doping effects in oxide heterostructures
Research Team: Currently advises two PhD students in Materials Science and Engineering:
