Katy Grindberg serves as a Lecturer and Director of Contextual Education at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary (PLTS) since September 2020, bringing her expertise as an ordained ELCA minister (since 2008) to theological education and practical ministry training.
Her academic credentials include:
- Master of Divinity (MDiv) from Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary (2006)
- Master of Arts (MA) in Liturgical Studies from the Graduate Theological Union
Grindberg's research centers on the intersection of worship and ethics, particularly through her MA thesis In Faith Toward God and In Fervent Love Toward One Another: A Lutheran Eucharistic Ethic for the 21st Century, which develops contemporary frameworks for Eucharistic practice. Her teaching focuses on worship studies and contextual education, emphasizing real-world application in ministerial settings.
As Director of Contextual Education, she coordinates field work placements across congregations and agencies, mentoring students in practical ministry while bridging academic theory with hands-on experience in diverse religious communities.
