Katy Barnett is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Melbourne's Melbourne Law School, where she has been a permanent faculty member since 2010. She holds an LLB with Honours, a BA (English, History, Medieval Studies), and a PhD from the University of Melbourne (2010), focusing on accounts of profit for breach of contract. Her research spans Remedies Law, comparative law, animal law, behavioral economics, and legal history. She has authored influential works like Remedies in Australian Private Law and co-edits the Melbourne Law School blog Opinions on High. She also practices as a legal consultant at Sharpe & Abel.
