معرفی
Katrine Borgå is a Professor in the Department of Biosciences at the University of Oslo, leading the Borgå research group focused on ecotoxicology and contaminant dynamics in Arctic, temperate, and tropical ecosystems. Her work examines how climate change, legacy pollutants, and emerging contaminants (e.g., neonicotinoids, e-waste substances) interact with food web ecology, migration, and biogeochemistry to influence pollutant redistribution and organismal effects.
Current projects include:
- MULTIWHALE: Effects of multiple stressors on Norwegian killer whales
- AnthroTox: Combining anthropology and toxicology to study global toxicants
- MULTICLIM: Climate change effects on springtail populations with pesticide exposure
- Nansen Legacy: Arctic marine food web contamination in a changing climate
- NEOPOLL: Neonicotinoid impacts on bumblebee behavior and reproduction
Research Themes span contaminant bioaccumulation, multi-stressor interactions, and ecosystem health assessment. Her group employs mechanistic modeling, stable isotope analysis, and multivariate statistics to decode contaminant pathways.
Students & Collaborations: Supervises 12 PhD and Master's students across projects like MULTICOP, MULTIWHALE, and TerrACE. Collaborations involve institutions such as NIVA, NILU, NMBU, and international partners in Italy, Germany, and the Czech Republic.
