Dr. Katrina Davis is an Associate Professor of Conservation Biology at the University of Oxford and a Tutorial Fellow at Balliol College. Her research focuses on optimizing environmental resource management to enhance both conservation outcomes and human welfare. She specializes in social-ecological systems, particularly marine environments, employing demographic modeling, bio-economic analysis, and non-market valuation techniques.
Her research interests include human-wildlife conflict mitigation, marine ecosystem valuation, and spatial management strategies. Notably, she explores the integration of technological tools like UAVs for ecological monitoring and the socio-economic impacts of conservation policies on local communities.
Key areas of exploration include the synergistic effects of anthropogenic threats on biodiversity and the development of equitable conservation frameworks. Her work bridges ecological science with policy, emphasizing practical solutions for sustainable resource use.
