Katrin Pape

Dr. Katrin Pape is a Physician Scientist at the Department of Neurology, University Medical Center Mainz, and the Institute of Molecular Biology, affiliated with the Centre for Healthy Ageing (CHA). She holds concurrent roles in the MeMentUM mentoring programme and previously completed residencies in Psychiatry (2022-2023) and Neurology (since 2016). She earned her MD from the University of Freiburg in 2015, supported by a fellowship from the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes.

Her research investigates immunosenescence, neuroinflammation, and neurodegeneration through multi-omics analysis of cerebrospinal fluid. Key focuses include:

• Age-dependent immune dysfunction in multiple sclerosis
• Optimizing immunotherapies (e.g., ocrelizumab, natalizumab)
• Biomarker discovery for brain ageing
