Katrin Heucher is an Assistant Professor of Change Management and Sustainability at the University of Groningen’s Faculty of Economics and Business, Department of Innovation Management and Strategy. She co-leads the university-wide strategic theme 'Sustainability and Future Prosperity' and is a Research Fellow at the Rudolf Agricola School for Sustainable Development. Her research focuses on organizational sustainability, strategic change, and insider social change agents, employing ethnography to explore paradoxical tensions in corporate sustainability efforts.
Education: PhD in Management (Loughborough University), MSc in International Management for China (SOAS, University of London), BA in Regional Studies China and Business Administration (University of Cologne). Postdoctoral work at the Erb Institute, University of Michigan. Prior industry experience in chemical industry strategy (BASF/LANXESS) in Europe and China.
Research interests include paradox theory, sustainability transitions, and the role of organizational change agents. Awards include the Academy of Management ONE Best Dissertation Award and an Impact Acceleration Grant. Teaches courses like 'Sustainability: Strategy, Innovation & Change' and 'Enacting Change in Ecosystems'.
