Dr. Katrin Gurt is a Researcher at the Historical Seminar, Department of History, University of Leipzig, since 2008. Her academic career spans over a decade, integrating roles in education, research, and institutional management.
Education:
- Teacher training in German and History at University of Rostock (1987–1993)
- Philosophy studies during teaching career (1998–2001)
- PhD in History Didactics at University of Hamburg (2002–2005), focusing on digital learning in history teaching.
Research Interests:
- Qualitative and quantitative studies on historical consciousness of students and historians
- Case studies on the 1968 demolition of Paulinerkirche in Leipzig and its reconstruction
- Comparative analysis of the Red Army Faction (RAF) and National Socialist Underground (NSU)
- Medieval history, including falsifications, Vikings, and cultural myths.
