Katja von den Benken

Katja von den Benken is a Lecturer for special tasks and Head of the Institute for Continuing Education in Artistic Therapies at the Department of Artistic Therapies and Therapy Science, Alanus University of Arts and Society. She specializes in anthroposophical art therapy (BVAKT®) and operates a private practice. Her roles include coordinating neighborhood initiatives, teaching art and music in schools, and leading social art workshops.

• Education: Bachelor of Arts in Art Therapy - Social Art (Alanus University, 2020), state-certified business economist (2008), and multimedia design training (2002).

Her research focuses on applying creative therapies to address anxiety disorders, trauma, and dementia. She regularly conducts lectures and supervisions in art therapy and volunteers with organizations like Therapeutikum Krefeld e.V. and BVAKT®.

Key projects include developing art-based interventions for dementia patients and collaborating with Waldorf schools on educational art therapies.
