Dr Katja Seidel is a Senior Lecturer in History at the University of Westminster's School of Humanities. She holds a combined BA/MA in History and French from the Universities of Tübingen (Germany) and Aix-en-Provence (France), and a PhD from the University of Portsmouth. Her academic journey includes post-doctoral research at the German Historical Institute in Paris before joining the University of Westminster in 2011. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
Her research focuses on the history of European integration, international organizations, and transnational actors. Key projects include a biography of Miriam Camps (US diplomat and economist) and contributions to the official history of the European Commission (Volumes II and III, 2014 & 2019). She co-edited the textbook Reinventing Europe: The History of the European Union 1945-2020.
Her teaching includes modules on European history, international organizations, and policy analysis, such as History, Memory and Belonging and Rule Britannia: Researching Britain and the Empire 1750-1914.
