Prof. Dr. Katja Mackowiak is a Professor of Special Education Psychology at the Institute for Special Education, Faculty of Philosophy, Leibniz University Hannover. Her work focuses on developmental psychology and inclusive education in early childhood settings.
Research Interests:
- Design of learning and educational processes in elementary education
- Professionalization of early childhood educators
- Development of cognitive structures and problem-solving skills
- Inclusive school education models
- Language support for multilingual children
Notable Projects:
- ADIL: Adaptive dialogic reading for multilingual children
- LeiK-adaptive: Learning support in inclusive daycare
- KoAkiK II: Cognitive activation in childcare
- allE: Integrated language education effectiveness
Teaching: Focuses on clinical developmental psychology, psychological diagnostics, and prevention/intervention for developmental disorders. Currently teaches courses on quantitative methods and dialogic reading.
