Prof. Katja Krause holds a dual role as Professor at Technische Universität Berlin’s Institute of Philosophy and leader of the Max Planck Research Group "Experience in the Pre-Modern Sciences of Soul and Body (800–1650)". Her expertise spans medieval thought, history of science, and philosophy, with specialization in Arabic-Latin transmission of knowledge. She earned her PhD in 2014 from King’s College London, followed by postdoctoral fellowships at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science and Harvard Divinity School. Her research focuses on the empirical turn in 13th-century scholasticism, medieval medical epistemology, and Albert the Great’s integration of Arabic sources.
