Katja Garloff is a Professor of German and Humanities at Reed College, affiliated with the German Department within the Division of Literature and Languages. She joined the faculty in 1997 following an M.A. from the University of Hamburg and a Ph.D. in German Literature from the University of Chicago. Her research focuses on German Jewish literature, cultural memory, and authorship, with notable works including *Making German Jewish Literature Anew* (2022) and *Mixed Feelings* (2016). She has secured grants from the ACLS and DAAD, and serves on editorial boards for *Humanities*, *Nexus: Essays in German Jewish Studies*, and *The Leo Baeck Institute Yearbook*. At Reed, she teaches modern German literature, German Jewish culture, film/media studies, and Humanities 220.
