Katja Brodmann is a Senior Lecturer in Neuroscience and Psychology Education at King's College London, based in the Department of Neuroimaging within the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. She serves as Deputy Director and Senior Tutor for the BSc Neuroscience and Psychology programme. Her research focuses on the neural underpinnings of social cognition using EEG, particularly examining oxytocin's effects and interindividual differences. She co-leads the departmental EEG interest group and emphasizes inclusive education and student support.
Her research interests span neuropharmacology, social neuroscience, and neuropsychiatric disorders. Notable work includes studies on oxytocin pharmacodynamics in the human brain and white matter alterations in depression. She has published in high-impact journals like Progress in Neurobiology and Brain and Behavior.
Brodmann's teaching includes modules on neuroscience-society interactions and EEG methodologies. She actively engages in translational research and collaborates across disciplines to advance understanding of brain networks and mental health.
